The Y.E.P program provides a safe and nurturing space for students to grow and experience success whilst participating in life changing learning experiences. Experiences they wouldn’t have access to anywhere else...
— Luke - Y.E.P Teacher

Y.E.P. empowers

our students to grow into confident, capable, and culturally aware young people. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, students develop resilience, teamwork, and life skills that open doors to global learning opportunities. Carefully planned excursions and cultural experiences help students step beyond their comfort zones, build independence, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them, culminating in a yearly Overseas/Interstate Experience or Activities Week Experience.

Global Learning

is embedded across the curriculum, linking learning to real-world contexts. Dedicated Yuille Explorers sessions bring students and teachers together with a shared purpose, raising expectations for attendance, effort, and achievement.

Through strong community partnerships and authentic leadership opportunities, YEP is setting a benchmark for global education in local schools. We believe that with the right opportunities and support, every student can thrive as a confident, culturally aware global citizen.

Y.E.P New Zealand 2025 - Student Reflections

Thank you for the opportunity to do something way out of our comfort zones. My child going away helped me grow as a parent to learn its ok to let him try new things with teachers that I have 100% trust in.
— Sarah, Parent

Students are central

Beyond travel and excursions, YEP builds real-world skills through student-led initiatives and fundraising teams. These opportunities give students practical experience in leadership, collaboration, and community engagement, while strengthening school pride and connection. Tailored challenges such as high ropes courses, fitness programs, and public speaking engagements further develop confidence and a growth mindset.

Week 1 Thursday: Students from all year levels at Yuille come together with all staff members to participate in a range of engaging teamwork, resilience building, social skill building and fundraising learning experiences.

Week 2 Thursday: Students from all year levels at Yuille come together with all staff members to participate in experiential based learning out in the community, experiencing the world outside of their local community.

The best part of our trip is seeing our students discover that they are capable of so much more than they ever imagined.
